NEW SEARCH RULES

(Applies to Forms.exe build 3.0.0.0 &

higher, November 12, 2005 onwards)

Search Steps:

1.   Enter the words you want to search for in the Search Box:

2.   After typing, press the “Enter” key or click the  button to start the Search;

3.   Search Results will be displayed in the default “Legal Forms” frame:

4.   Click on any Form found to display its contents in the Editing Window.

Search Modes: 

            There are three (3) Search Modes to choose from:

            The Search Modes are also available from under the Search Box:

1.  All Words

The All Words Search Mode will look for all Legal Forms that contain ALL the search words you type in the Search Box.

            Example:

            affidavit loss license

Result: This will look for all Legal Forms that contain ALL the words “affidavit” and “loss” and “license”.

2.  Any / Either

The Any / Either Search Mode will look for all Legal Forms that contain ANY of the search words you type in the Search Box.

            Example:

            affidavit loss license

Result: This will look for all Legal Forms that has ANY of the words: “affidavit”, “loss”, or “license”. All Legal Forms with the word “affidavit” will be included in the search result, as well as all Legal Forms with the word “loss” and those with the word “license”. This generates more hits compared to the All Words Search Mode.

 3.  Entire Phrase

The Entire Phrase Search Mode will treat what you have typed in the Search Box as a Search Phrase and will look for all Legal Forms that contain the Entire Phrase.

            Example:

donation mortis causa

Result: This will look for all Legal Forms that contain the entire phrase “donation mortis causa”.

 Use of Wildcards

The use of wildcard characters (? and *) is not necessary. The Search Engine is set to automatically find all words that contain the search word.

Example:

law

Result: This query will find all forms with words containing “law” such as: lawbreaker, lawful, lawfully, lawgiver, lawless, lawlessness, lawmaker, lawmaking, lawsuit, lawyer, etc.  As such, please be specific in formulating your queries. For example, if you wish to search for the word “lawyer”, don’t just type “law”, but type “lawyer”.
